Trying to find a meeting time that works for every member of the IEP team can feel like herding cats. That's just what happens when you have 5 (or 8, or 10!) different people who have competing priorities for their time. I call it the "special ed shuffle"-- that process of moving around appointments, childcare, classes, and other meetings to find a time that mostly works for everybody.
Today's Free Resource Friday features an awesome, simple tool to help streamline the process of finding a time that works.
Doodle.com is an app and website that allows a user to send out a simple poll to an unlimited amount of parties. The creator of the poll inputs any number of days/times that work for them and then emails it to everyone else. Then, each additional participant can simply mark whether or not they are available for each proposed time slot. Once everyone has responded, it's as simple as glancing at the poll for the time slot with the most green check marks-- that's your meeting time!
Additionally, Doodle has the option of connecting to your personal calendar so that your free time slots are obvious. Additionally, it will alert you if a proposed time slot conflicts with something else you have scheduled, and it can send reminders of upcoming meetings before they happen.
But best of all, it ends the non-stop back-and-forth emails to schedule and reschedule. I surely can't be the only one that's had a few 15-email threads where, by the end, it's not even obvious who is available. Doodle has changed this for me-- and it can for you too!
